Biography

Samuel Maíllo, a native of Béjar, began his musical training in Salamanca, studying piano, percussion, and voice at the Professional Conservatory, where he discovered early music. He later entered the Conservatorio Superior de Castilla y León to study harpsichord with Pilar Montoya and organ with Luis Dalda, graduating with the Prize for Outstanding Achievement in both specialties. He also pursued studies in musicology, recorder, and ethnomusicology.
He continued his education in historical performance at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam, studying organ with Jacques van Oortmerssen and harpsichord with Menno van Delft, and has taken part in masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Michael Radulescu, Olivier Latry, Daniel Roth, and Montserrat Torrent.As a performer, he has appeared in numerous national and international organ festivals in countries including Italy, Poland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Portugal. He has also performed as a soloist with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia and as continuo player with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León and the “Andrés Segovia” Chamber Orchestra.
In addition to his teaching position at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León, he regularly takes part in the early music courses and concerts organized by the University of Salamanca, and serves as coordinator of the organ series ‘Los sonidos centenarios’ in the province of Salamanca.
