Jorge Blasco

Piano
Biography

Jorge studied with Guadalupe L. Castelo and Albert Nieto at the Conservatorio Superior de Vitoria, graduating with honors. Thanks to the legendary pianist Lazar Berman, he became a student of Galina Eguiazarova, with whom he trained in the tradition of the Russian school of piano for five intense years at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía de Madrid.

Masterclasses from professors Vitaly Margulis, Joaquín Achúcarro, András Schiff, Zoltan Kocsis, and, especially, Eric Heidsieck broadened his conception of music. This ultimately lead to developing an artistic vision that has not gone unnoticed and has been awarded in various competitions such as the International Competition “Pedro Bote” and the National Competition “Ciudad de Albacete,”—where he is the most decorated pianist in its more than forty years of history—the International Competition of Ibiza, the “Ciutat de Manresa” Competition and the Musical Interpretation Competition of Alcoy.

His artistic ventures have taken him throughout Spain as a soloist and above all as a chamber musician. He is currently a member of the groups Mirtos Duo and the Tetraktys Ensemble.
